Brightbound Featured at Spring at the Ranch: Four Unique Lighting Installations Across Three Distinct Spaces
On May 30, 2026, Brightbound joined an extraordinary gathering of artists, makers, designers, and craftspeople for Spring at the Ranch, an immersive design event held at the Fairfield, California home of Pohan's Upholstery Principal, Sean McFadden.
Created as a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and the launch of Monument Era Furniture, the event transformed the ranch property into a living showcase of furniture, lighting, art, sculpture, textiles, and fine craftsmanship. Guests explored thoughtfully curated interiors while enjoying local food, drinks, and a private luxury wine tasting experience hosted by Penfolds.
For Brightbound, the event presented an opportunity to demonstrate how handcrafted lighting can shape a variety of architectural experiences throughout a home.
Four Brightbound Installations Across Three Spaces
Throughout the property, four distinct Brightbound fixtures were integrated into three unique environments, each illustrating a different approach to decorative lighting.
One of the event's focal points was Gemma, featuring our signature Fade Lala glass. Positioned within the primary entertaining space, Gemma served as both functional illumination and sculptural centerpiece. The soft gradient of Fade glass created a sense of movement and atmosphere, highlighting the handcrafted character of each individual glass form while complementing the warm material palette of the interior.

Nestled within a cozy retreat space, Fade Quip demonstrated the versatility of decorative pendant lighting in smaller-scale environments. Its compact form and subtle color transition created a moment of intimacy within the larger home, reinforcing the importance of thoughtful lighting in creating places for pause, conversation, and reflection.

Installed as a rhythmic series throughout a circulation corridor, Lala Pendants transformed a transitional space into a design moment of its own. The installation highlighted how decorative lighting can create continuity and visual interest while guiding movement through a home.

Perhaps the most unexpected installation was Sila Helix 1, positioned within the bathroom environment. The combination of hand-blown glass, rope detailing, and sculptural form created an immersive experience that challenged conventional expectations of bathroom lighting. It served as a reminder that some of the most memorable spaces in a home are often the most intimate. Images to follow!
A Celebration of California Craftsmanship
What made Spring at the Ranch particularly special was the spirit of collaboration behind it.
The event brought together a diverse community of Northern California makers, artists, furniture designers, textile creators, and craftspeople, each contributing to an environment that felt both highly curated and deeply personal.
Hosted at the home of Sean McFadden, the gathering reflected a shared appreciation for handmade work, enduring materials, and thoughtful design.
The Role of Decorative Lighting in Residential Design
At Brightbound, we believe lighting should do more than illuminate a space. It should create atmosphere, encourage connection, and contribute to the overall experience of a home.
Spring at the Ranch provided a unique opportunity to showcase how a single lighting collection can adapt across multiple architectural settings, from gathering spaces and quiet retreats to hallways and private bathrooms.
Each installation demonstrated a different expression of light, proving that decorative lighting can be both functional and deeply emotional.
